Welcome – Eufaula Oklahoma

(Click for video)

Welcome to Eufaula, Oklahoma, the county seat of McIntosh County. Hi, I’m Mayor Dean Smith.....I invite you to join me for a virtual tour of our hospitable community – it’s a great place to live, work and play! Located on the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railway…12 miles south of Interstate 40 at the crossroads of US Highway 69 and Oklahoma State Highway 9, Eufaula, Oklahoma, sits amid the picturesque Eufaula Cove. The city is also one-half-of-a-mile east of the significant tribal community North Fork Town, which was settled by the Creek Indians in 1836. Today, the Town is covered by Lake Eufaula – the largest lake in the state. Residents benefit from a reasonable cost of living, gorgeous park sites, quality educational facilities, Community Hospital Lakeview, a wealth of Indian outlaw and Civil War history and vast recreational opportunities. Camp, boat, and fish at Eufaula Cove…enjoy bird watching at Lake Eufaula…check out the site of the Battle of Honey Springs, the largest and most important Civil War battle fought in Oklahoma…visit the gravesite of Belle Starr, the most famous female outlaw and sister of Jessie and Frank James…or spend the day antiquing. You’ll find it all in Eufaula!
