Selby Minner The Eufaula Area Arts Council sponsored several blues events to the delight of Lake Eufaula residents and visitors, today. There were guitar workshops in the morning and afternoon. Each attracted about ten students, including Gerald Vinson of Wagonner who had crafted his own guitar. The morning workshop was headed by Joe Brennen and included guitar playing styles, open D tuning, slide guitar and vintage instruments. The afternoon workshop was overseen by Selby Minner , widow of D.C. Minner, a legendary Oklahoma Bluesman and educator. Threatening weather and a last minute decision to hold the SOME concert at the original location, Eufaula Pavillion instead of the rainy weather location of the Eufaula Community Center, probably accounted for the low turnout at the Souled Out Music in Eufaula concert. I can attest that it wasn't due to a lack of talent as Miss Blues and her band played to a small but enthusiastic crowd. A few stars and a cool breeze capped off a near perfect evening. When talking music, it's much better to do a "show and tell", so please checkout the videos - Lake Eufaula Blues Concert <-- Click here
